Referrals Personnel
Summary of Responsibilities: The Referrals Personnel completes and manages all referral requests made by all providers of the Hickman Rural Health Clinic.
Essential Job Functions: Receives and completes referral requests made by each provider in a timely manner. Manages old and new referrals, ensuring they are kept up-to -date. Regularly checks with each of the providers for updated orders for new referrals. When the occasion arises as necessary, contacts patients to update any information in regards to their account or referral. when necessary, relays updates on referrals to each provider in a timely manner. keeps equipment operating by following operation instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, and calling for repairs in a timely manner. Maintains safe and secure work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations. Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping patient care information confidential in compliance with HIPPA. Serves and protects the healthcare provider practice by adhering to professional standards, policies and procedures, and federal, state, and local requirements. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, and maintaining networks. enhances healthcare practice reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different tasks and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments. Performs specific work duties and responsibilities assigned by the supervisor.
Knowledge and Ability: Must have effective communication skills, both oral and written, in English. Must be able to promote a courteous and calm atmosphere. Be able to work cooperatively with other healthcare professionals and other departments within the facility. must demonstrate initiative by actively seeking additional duties, as well as accepting and performing all other duties as assigned. Possess knowledge of and implementation of infection control and universal precaution practices.
Education and Experience: Have a high school diploma/GED Previous Clinical/ healthcare experience preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology and/or the willingness to learn. Customer Service experience Preferred experience in using an EMR system Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Experience using basic office equipment.
Personal and Public Contact The Referrals Personnel will have personal contact with all levels of staff, patients visitors and government agencies. Additional Information Position Type : Part Time Shift : Day
